No, Davion Mitchell is not related to Donovan Mitchell.  Same last name, number, and style on the court but not related.  The draft prospect Mitchell however, had a nice run in the tournament with the Baylor Bears and looks like a typical NBA point guard in today’s game.  He has good three point range, can get to the hoop, and create for others.  He may be a little undersized but smaller guards have had success still in the game today.

NBA COMPARISON: DONOVAN MITCHELL / Devontae graham

The obvious comparison is Donovan Mitchell, and not just because he wears the same number and has the same last name.  The comparisons come in the way they play the game.  Both are big time scorers, three point shooters, and playmakers.  Neither really have played a true point guard and Davion will probably get a lot of run as an undersized shooting guard in the NBA but will also handle the ball a lot.  A similar role that Donovan plays.  Another player that comes to mind is combo guard Devontae Graham.  Graham is a streaky scorer and shoots a lot of threes.  Kind of a sixth man type player that you can use as a backup PG and also a Shooting Guard.
